Unless you want to be seen as utterly decrepit, a good move would be to avoid “thumbs up”.
Jeremy Burge, the chief emoji officer of Emojipedia, notes Boomers tend to use emojis literally while younger people get more creative. "It's common wisdom on TikTok that the laughing crying emoji is for boomers." (ed- it's true, boomers can't think creatively 😂).
